Zoe LaVerne Is Pregnant
Positive pregnancy test! Zoe LaVerne announced on Monday, February 22, that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Dawson Day.
“Really excited to have y’all watch my baby grow,” the mom-to-be went on to write on her Instagram Story. “[The tests are] very much real. If y’all want me to piss on another one while live, lmk since you’re so interested.”
She also clarified that Day is “the father of [her] child,” urging her followers to “stop saying otherwise.” She referenced her controversial November 2020 kiss with Connor Joyce, writing, “Connor is 13. Nothing else happened besides a kiss. Stay in your own business. How would that even make any kind of since ?”
The mom-to-be clapped back at mom-shamers hours later. “The amount of people that have the guts to talk s–t about an unborn child is so upsetting and so heartbreaking. Really shows the generation we are in … and how a lot of you weren’t raised very right!”
LaVerne wished the fellow Indiana resident a happy two-month anniversary in January. “Happy two months dork,” the social media star captioned a series of selfies. “I love you so much. Hope to see many more months with you.”
The following month, her boyfriend wrote in a post of his own: “Happy three months baby. Thank you for being the most amazing girlfriend any guy could ever dream of having. You’re perfect in every possible way. I love you so much.”
Zoe LaVerne is setting the record straight.
According to The Daily Mail, Zoe kissed a 13-year-old fan named Connor in 2020 and later posted a video in which she denied grooming him and acknowledged “the age is a bad thing.”
“Yes, it’s wrong. Yes, it’s not good,” she said at the time, per the outlet. “We both realized that and we stopped.”
She also praised Dawson. “You are going to be such a great daddy!! I love you so much!” she wrote in a separate Instagram post. “Thank you for changing my life so much and making me the happiest girl on earth.”
Dawson, who has been dating Zoe for three months, also noted the couple “couldn’t be happier.”
“For the idiots talking s–t I am the father,” he wrote on Instagram. “Zoe and Connor didn’t do anything to have a baby. That’s impossible. And if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. That’s disgusting and a real low blow to talk s–t ab an unborn child. It’s sickening. Please send positive vibes only!”

For teenage influencers clinging onto fast-paced online fame, controversy can be a good thing. TikTok stars like Bryce Hall and Danielle Cohn have cultivated profitable personas as troublemakers and provocateurs, and even family-friendly influencers like Charli D’Amelio and Addison Rae are boosted by relationship drama. But there’s a tipping point for influencer scandals, especially those involving inappropriate relationships with underage fans.
This isn’t LaVerne’s first time experiencing a negative outpouring of attention, but it’s the most serious of her controversies. Here’s how LaVerne went from a lip-syncing Musical.ly star to a TikTok villain.
LaVerne is actually Zoe’s middle name. Her full name is Zoe LaVerne Pemberton. LaVerne grew up in Greenwood, Indiana, the largest suburb in the Indianapolis area. She has one brother named Eric and an older step-brother named Cameron.
LaVerne first started posting to Musical.ly in late 2015, when she still had braces and was enrolled in public school. Early on, classmates made fun of LaVerne for being active on the app, she later said. But LaVerne gained followers at a quick pace early on, she said, leading up to getting a verification “Crown” in March 2017.
“It was the best feeling in the world,” LaVerne described in a 2017 Instagram post. She continued to live with her family outside Indianapolis while visiting LA to meet other influencers and collaborate.
